One of the great legends in Russian folklore is that of the Invisible City of Kitezh. The mythical city is said to be submerged under the waters of Lake Svetloyar near Nizhny Novgorod, in central Russia.
The great Russian composer Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov wrote an opera and accompanying suite based on the legend which continues to delight audiences across the world.
But for the US State Department, the Invisible City of Kitezh is not only visible but it is visible in a recent report on Russia.
According to the US State Department,
“A homeless shelter run by the Russian Orthodox Church in Kitezh began accepting trafficking victims and offered them food and housing, though not medical or psychological care.
The government did not provide financial support for the shelter”.
It seems we’ve moved form fake news to mythical news. The folks in the US State Department have now taken it upon themselves to ruin a perfectly good folk legend based on totally made up information.
Thus far, the people at US State Department have not retracted their outlandish fake claims about a fake city.

Why does this not surprise me nothing that comes out of the US State dept makes much sense these days especially if it includes Russia.
And they forgot to mention the brutal hunt by Russian poachers on the endangered Жар-птица?!?
