RABAT (Sputnik) – Russia and Morocco have prospects for cooperation in the energy sector, Russia is ready to ensure liquefied natural gas (LNG) supplies for Morocco’s needs, Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev said Wednesday.

“Energy is one of the traditional spheres of our cooperation… It is obvious that we can also open new pages in this cooperation, including new spheres, new areas of energy cooperation,”

Medvedev said at a press conference after talks with his Moroccan counterpart.

“We are ready for the widest range of opportunities, in particular, in our view, LNG supplies for the needs of the Moroccan economy seem very promising. However, this direction is not exhaustive either, we are ready to discuss with our partners all areas of cooperation, including nuclear energy and a number of other areas [including alternative energy sources].”
