Putin to meet Chinese, Indian, Egyptian, S.African, Mexican leaders at BRICS summit

MOSCOW (Sputnik) – Russian President Vladimir Putin will meet on the sidelines of the BRICS summit in China with the leaders of China, Egypt, South Africa and Mexico, as well as with the prime ministers of India and Thailand, Kremlin aide Yury Ushakov said Friday.

Speaking at a briefing, the Kremlin official said that Russia and China would hold talks in broad and narrow formats.

“Obviously there will be bilateral contacts. I have already mentioned the contacts with the Chinese leader.  On September 4, there will be talks with Indian Prime Minister [Narendra] Modi. Then, [Putin will meet] Egyptian President  [Abdel Fattah] Sisi, Thai Prime Minister [Prayut] Chan-o-cha, South African President [Jacob] Zuma. And on September 5, the president will meet with Mexican President [Enrique] Pena Nieto,”

Ushakov said.
