Moscow offers Berlin to develop counterterrorism cooperation

Russian Interior Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev proposed to German law enforcement officials to promote anti-terrorism cooperation between Moscow and Berlin.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) – Russian Interior Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev proposed to German law enforcement officials to promote anti-terrorism cooperation between Moscow and Berlin, the ministry said in statement on Tuesday.

Earlier in the day, Kolokoltsev met with President of German Federal Criminal Police Office Holger Munch.

“The Russian minister offered to develop bilateral cooperation to counter international terrorism and extremism and said that the experience of German partners on the example of Berlin’s United Center for Counterterrorism is useful,”

the statement read.

The bilateral cooperation will include the exchange of information on terrorist suspects as well as the efforts to ensure security in information sphere, the ministry added:

“Other important aspect of cooperation between the law enforcement agencies of both countries is ensuring security in information sphere. Vladimir Kolokoltsev urged the foreign partners to intensify mutual efforts.”

The sides have also discussed the issues of security at the large-scale international sport events.
