(RT) – The International Paralympic Committee (IPC) has prolonged the suspension of the Russian Paralympic Committee’s (ROC) membership in the international body.

The decision comes after the Russian Olympic team was barred from participating in the 2018 Winter Olympics in South Korea. The International Olympic Committee (IOC) ruled on December 5 that “clean” Russian athletes can only compete under a neutral flag in PyeongChang.

In September, Russian Paralympic athletes were allowed to take part in qualifiers for the upcoming games under a neutral flag, and were ordered to take at least two doping tests.

Last year, the IPC decided to ban the entire Russian team from participating in the 2016 Summer Paralympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The Russian Paralympic Committee’s membership in the international body was suspended.
